My brother Brad and I skydiving in Colorado. Brad went out on a Tandem jump (harnessed to trainer). After they left I went out after them. Usually when a skydiver "chases" someone that is lower than they are by more than 1000' you go into what is called a delta dive hitting well over 200mph.

The tandem pair is falling at 160mpg so my closure rate  is a little over 50mph.

In the following pictures you see me flying in from the right to dock on the tandem master and my brother. This is highly irregular and not many tandem masters will let people dock on them due to the dangers involved. My experience level at the time put him at ease so he agreed to let me dock on them and get some pictures. This was Brad's second jump and my 668th.

With the dock complete both the tandem master and my self look at our altimeters to see how low we are. At this point in the dive we have about 5 seconds to open our parachutes. The tandem master opens high  (about 4500 feet) for safety reasons. I suck it down to about 2000feet (exactly 11 second from the ground) then pull my parachute.

In the last picture you can see the tandem master reaching in the rip cord.
